Probably a traumatized bird.

They can - really, seriously - die of fright in a situation like that, beyond the concussion it probably has.

I'd suggest you put him outside in some tall grass or somewhere else fairly safe from observation. If he/she recovers, it will fly away. If not . . . .

But having it inside your house will probably scare the bejeebus out of it.

My big book of Alberta birds is at home . . . .
