If you have more than one dog, I would recommend removing the collars if they are at all unsupervised. They can get caught up while playing and choke to death.

Some people that used to walk thier dogs in the same park as us lost a husky when his collar got caught in the jaw of thier other husky mix. The dogs were playing in the back yard and they were in the house. By the time they realized what was going on, the poor dog had choked to death.

The doggy day care we take our pup to removes all the collars when dogs come in for this very reason.
