Default Question: What do I do with this co-worker.

Ok, here is the deal. There is this women who works in the same building and office as me. She does not work for the same Agency but we happen to share the same office. I work at Canada Place in Edmonton, similar to the Harry Hay's building in Calgary.

She has taken it upon herself to take over the handicap parking location at the building. There is only 1 spot for the entire building that is FREE. The rest of the handicap spots are paid. The spot does not have a time limit on it. She had knee surgery 2 years ago and has been able to get a handicap parking tag that expires in 2013. If you observed her there would be no way to tell that her mobility is impaired one bit. From what I can tell she is as able bodied as the rest of us.

She parks in this spot from 7:30am until 4pm. I have witnessed daily occurences of people who are really handicapped unable to park because her vehicle is parked there. There have been numberous complaints to the parking authorities/bylaw about her vehicle being parked there all day long including the DATS bus, and the city bus drivers. They cannot do anything because there is no time limit to the spot and she has a valid handicap sticker. She even parks 1-2 feet within the loading zone but bylaw is afraid that if they ticket someone with a handicap sticker it would be bad press.

Anybody have some suggestions as to what can be done other than slashing tires and blowing up her car. This is the kind of crap that makes public servants look bad and I want it to end but there doesnt seem to be any motivation from bylaw to change the parking spot to a 2 hour spot.

Is there anyone in Edmonton that is willing to go and video tape her and put it on youtube or send it to the local news. This person is really pissing me off.

Venting over.
