You know, the irony of your viewpoint is that there actually IS a school of thought that says the reasons for torture matter. But in general, they construct a hypothetical "ticking time-bomb" scenario to justify torture, not one where "the Hell's Angels kind of didn't like you."
Sorry, but this time relativism has no place. The reasons don't matter. Torture isn't somehow "slightly more okay" if the victim wasn't a saint. If it were, we'd live in a terrifying moral universe.
