I haven't read this entire thread, so maybe this has been discussed to death, but why can't the Jays draw any fans?
I assume a big part of this is being in the AL East. Fans have little hope that the Jays can overtake the powerhouse Yankees and BoSox with their seemingly unlimited payrolls. Is there any chance that MLB will bring in a hard salary cap in the future?

Attendance numbers were inflated last year. This year they are reporting the actual number.
The Jays don't have a limited payroll, they can spend $120million plus if the situation is right. The team we are watching now, with this pitching staff, none of them will walk away because of money. Toronto is in a much better situation than Tampa Bay for example who are looking to cut costs and will lose a free agent like Carl Crawford for sure.
The weekend series against the Yankees will draw a good crowd and if the Jays do well, people will return.
