I don't know about that, it would depend on what you're ordering. Regular McDonalds burger and a small fries is likely comparable in calorie and fat intake to a 6 inch steak and cheese with oil and ranch dressing. But if I order a 6 inch turkey on whole wheat with no cheese and only have mustard and veggies on it, than Subway is a healthier choice. But who actually orders a regular burger and a small fries who's over the age of 12? I'm guessing not too many of their customers.
Pretty much any restaurant is serving high calorie meals, and if you watch what you order you can get a healthier lower calorie meal anywhere. It's up to the consumer to know what he/she is eating and what the calorie totals are. I'm trying to watch my weight to a certain extent and attempting to keep my heart from exploding when I turn 60 like pretty much every other male with my surname. So if I have to eat out, it's usually at Subway and the lower calorie options. Although it's hard to eat out and not have the sodium levels go off the charts.
