Too bad that England has won all ten games in which Walcott has featured, averaging more than three goals a game. The pro-Spurs hatred for this guy borders on the sublime. I'm pretty sure that if Walcott was an Spurs (yuk) player, there would be none of these ad hominem attacks.
Just as in the case of Emile Heskey, England have a very good record when he features, even though his goal scoring record isn't that good. He plays well with smaller forwards like Rooney and Owen and has definitely had a hand in their prolific goal scoring successes.
I wonder if Spurs fans felt this way when Paul Robinson was in the squad, as it is widely thought that he has been the worst England starting goalkeeper in the past 30 years, or were they intoxicated by the fact that their club 'keeper was England's 'keeper?
If Walcott plied his trade up and down the pitch in N17, I hardly think that there would be this hate on for him. But maybe some CPers know better than Capello.
