The funny thing about Vince was that about a year after he tore it up in the dunk competition, there were murmurs of a one for one swap Kobe for Vince based mostly on the premise that Vince was more of a marketing commodity and had to be in the US and that Kobe was equal value. I remember telling friends at the time that Vince is so much better and what's the point of doing such a deal. How wrong I was. Personally I feel that without the rape accusations against Kobe, I don't think he'd be the player he is today. After that incident, as far as I know, he doesn't go out much with others on the team anymore and he worked harder on his game which brought him to where he is today.
