That's just me, man. I'm not knocking anyone else or anything. I'm just saying that "free" is very rarely ever actually free.

I would go for the free option that comes with ads because 15 years of using the internet has evolved an automatic ad blocker in my brain.
Google has innovated in so many ways with things that are pretty much free to the consumer whereas any other company without the clout and capital would have never been able to get anything of the sort going or would have charged large fees to do so had google not changed the landscape and playing field (google maps/gmail/docs for instance).
That said, Google is evil. So is Apple.

Everybody has a bit of evil in them.
