I have some ideas about what might be going on, but need some clarification to be sure.
What did they do when they 'changed some spam settings'? Did they just send you an email saying they changed something, or get you to change some settings in your email client? If you can provide details it might help clarify.
I am guessing they made some DNS changes and subsequently changed them back due to a problem. If this is the case, then be patient and it will start working again like they said and there isn't much that can be done to speed it up. If this is not what they changed then maybe they are just idiots.
