I am a newb when it comes to trail riding as well. I have had my bike for about three summers now but it basically gets used to go to work and back and some light riding around the river.

Mostly I guess because I don't know anyone that wants to ride these kind of trails. All my buddies just want to ride up and down the river gawking at chicks, which is fun but after the 5th or 6th pass even I feel creepy.

I've started stock piling equipment though and I think I am at a point where I can at least do day rides in areas like the one troutman as outlined. Just wish it wasn't such a long crappy car ride to Calgary.. double lane that high way already, at least on the Alberta side, you guys have so much money.
