As has been previously pointed out, it's equality that's a right. If straight people can get married but gay people can't, that's not equality.

Absolutely the government can and should have the authority to tell and church what they can and can't do. You can't have churches doing whatever they want (like enabling child molesters) just because they're a church. Religion must never be above the law.
