So many thoughts, so many people saying different things. I've had some time to think about it and the more I do, the more I think Kimmel was on to something. I personally think the whole series was about jack and everyone basically died in the initial crash. Go back and watch the first episode. Jack dies in the final episode where he woke up in the first. The exact same spot. The shoe in the tree, everything is the same.

Personally I believe that the entire show was about Jack and him being able to move on and the others didn't matter at all. They were simply people he saw as he boarded/flew on the plane. Everything on the island was his purgatory.
