No, Coangelo already crippled this team by signing a career journeyman to a huge contract after having a huge postseason in a tailor-made offense that was born in the 70s and doesn't keep himself in shape the season before a generational free agency period that could result in the team losing their franchise player that plays the same role as a signing that was and continues to be the worst in the league.

I'm baffled that you think moving Barg would improve our offense.

A) No doubt Turkoglu is a lazy half assed player, but the Raps can't move that contract no matter what. So you live with it and hope to God he produces when starting. Realistically, he's staying a Raptor for a very long time.
B) What's so baffling about moving Bargs and improving the TEAM? Lets get to what Bargnani has first. He has excellent size and possesses speed and quickness that is rare in the league (for his size). He also has a sweet stroke which is can knock down from long range. What he does not have consistently is the determination to drive the net; a post-up move; offensive awareness, ballhandling (not really a fair asserting because of his size); and a variety of areas he can knock down the shot from (always from the centre more or less). Now, you can look at the numbers all you like and say he has 18ppg and 8rpg, but he does it inconsistently, does get a lot of uncontested rebounds when nobody else is around, and get a lot during garbage time. He rarely asserts himself like a big man should. When you look at teams who win, a pass-first PG is something very essential, along with that athletic wing who can do it all. When you look past Bargnani's size and his natural ability, you see a guy who's not all that enthusiastic to do the dirty work to win and there's no way he's on a championship team as a first or second option.
Hypothetically speaking (and I know this wouldn't happen), but lets say Deron Williams was available for Bargnani, Jack and DeRozan. Then say Calderon and the 13th is dealt for Gerald Wallace. An authentic Centre like Haywood could be signed and the lineup would look like a solid contender. I'm not saying it's this easy or these guys above are available for that price either, I'm just saying that there are pieces to move and hopefully Colangelo sees that his son, Bargnani is holding the team back and he'll never realize his potential. The possible return for the guy is quite high I'm certain though.
