As a protest, "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" was planned after the creators of TV's "South Park" complained last month that Comedy Central edited their attempts to render Muhammad.
In this case it's Comedy Central, not any islamic group, that was responsible for constraining freedom of expression in the South Park episode in question. It seems to me the protest really should be directed to the network, which made a business decision to edit out images of the prophet. Beyond that, in these circumstances, it just seems pointlessly inflammatory.
