I bought a Taylor a few years ago as an impulse buy. I rarely even touch it... in fact I never touch it. I play my first guitar that is beat up beyond recognition. It has dents and chips in places it shouldn't have. It's great though, lets me leave it out and have no fear of it breaking. No need to always stick it in the case so it doesn't get damaged.
I agree, no need to spend over $1000 (I was stupid) on a guitar. Unless you're a pro.
