Yep. I learned the hard way too. If you workout a lot and don't stretch it can actually make it worse too.
After hockey season last year and I had serious imbalance problems. Its taken till now to get it corrected.
I like the way P90X videos teach you to stretch before and after. Even if you don't want to use the whole program I would recommend following the stretching and yoga routines.
Also, a foam roller works great too. For $50 and some motivation to do it everyday of the week you can prevent a lot of problems in the future.
