I grew up knowing a lot of mormons, they're generally very good people. My only beef really is their aggressive anti-gay lobbying that they do. They were largely responsible for getting Proposition 8 passed in California.
As for the temple, even though Calgary's a really secular city, I don't mind seeing these large religious buildings going up. The crazier ones like this add something unique to the city's landscape.
