I've had my elliptical for a few years, but was never really religious about it. Since getting more hardcore, 6 times a week for 45-55 minutes it has made a huge difference. Unfortunately I broke mine about a week and a half ago and I have to wait for replacement parts until early June. So right now I'm trying to replace the workout with cycling, but I seem to have to more than double my time on the bike to get the same feeling afterwards. And I'm not messing around on the bike, I'm doing about a 40K ride starting at Glenmore and Macleod going down to the offleash area at Southland and Deerfoot, then taking the bike path down through Fish Creek to the reservation, up to the reservoir and back along Glenmore to my starting point.

As others have said, if you get motivated and consistent it's a great workout...
Why not run?
I have the same problem with training, I need to spend time on my bicycle but just find the time put in can be better used in the pool/running and never get around to it.
