Thumbs down The Camping Liquor Ban

I tried searching and maybe I'm blind but...

Quote:
To ensure Alberta’s parks are safe and enjoyable places for everyone, temporary liquor bans will be in place at ten provincial parks and recreation areas from noon on Thursday, May 20 until 6 p.m. on Monday, May 24. The ban has been expanded to cover two new locations this year -- Ghost Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area near Cochrane and Jarvis Bay Provincial Park near Sylvan Lake. An increased need for enforcement interventions at both parks resulted in this year’s ban.

Sites under the temporary liquor ban during Victoria Day long weekend include:
  • Aspen Beach Provincial Park
  • Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park
  • Dillberry Lake Provincial Park
  • Garner Lake Provincial Park
  • Ghost Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area
  • Jarvis Bay Provincial Park
  • Miquelon Lake Provincial Park
  • Pigeon Lake Provincial Park
  • Wabamun Lake Provincial Park
  • Whitney Lakes Provincial Park

What the hell? So because of a bunch of losers who can't clean up after themselves or handle liquor responsibly, the gov't of AB has to step in and ban liquor in provincial parks on the biggest weekend for camping? How is this "enjoyable for everyone"? Sounds like just enjoyable for mormons and people with small kids. Hell, even people with small kids can enjoy a beer on a hot afternoon in the woods.

This seems so over the top. First no tailgating, now this- what next? No drinking on outdoor patios?

Anyways if this is fata sorry but I searched a few times and nothing came up. What are your thoughts?
