When I first started driving at 18, I was paying $2160 (PLPD only) with AMA drivers Ed. I had an at-fault accident about 4 months later, and it jumped to $3300 (PLPD). A year after that it started to gradually decrease and now 4 years after the accident, I'm finally paying $2160 again.

What was odd, that without my Drivers Ed when I first started driving, my insurance would have been $3300 (note: same number as Drivers Ed with an accident). 4 years later (with no tickets on the abstract), I'm back paying what I had before the accident. Can't wait till I'm 25.
Yeah, my friends did drivers ed and still end up paying over $300 a month, which works out to more than $3600 a year. None of them have had tickets, and only one has been in an accident, but it wasn't his fault, someone came across 2 lanes and side swipped him. It's absolutely ludacris how much insurance is, especially how none of them have done anything wrong.
