Default Vista blue screen after software updates

Have had Vista for over two years now with no problems. I should probably upgrade but have been really lazy about it. Over the past week my computer has blue screened twice and both happened after downloading and installing a new version of two different applications. First I downloaded a new version of Malware Bytes and it blue screened. Today I downloaded the new version of itunes and it happened again.

I ran check disk and ran both virus scans and everything came back fine. I usually defrag twice a month and keep my computer running pretty healthy.

Any ideas?
