Meh, I thought the movie overall was fairly mediocre.

Now I must warn you I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie. I love Robert Downey Jr, and he is the perfect Tony Stark. I also liked how they did the origin storyline in the first film, but the second half was somewhat of a let down. Spoilers ahead!

The second one on the other hand, while it did have it's moments, it just didn't feel finished per say.

Downey Jr, was still excellent, and it's worth the price seeing him alone. They could not have chosen a more perfect Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Johansson did not work for me as the Black Widow. Sure she is hot as hell, but couldn't they have brought in a Russian, to play a Russian spy? I think she tried to use a Russian accent for ten seconds, then just gave up. She added nothing more to the movie other than her looks. I have no problem with that, but I could also say the same for Megan Fox.

Whiplash was so poorly done, it was just sad. He gets his ass handed to him in five minutes in the first battle, because of his "inferior" technology. So he works to make his own suit in order to take Stark/Iron Man down.

So in the final battle, after effortlessly taking out a few drones, outcomes Rourke as Whiplash. You would figure this will be a much more complex battle for Stark, and his sidekick Rhodes (War Machine). But nope, Whiplash is soundly defeated within three minutes. Good thing Whiplash set the drones to explode which is sure to destroy IM, and his cronies. Not this time of course. Whiplash makes sure to let Stark know the drones are set to explode in just enough time to save himself, and his sidekicks. Hooray! Everyone is saved.

It almost felt like the movie had no direction, and a very limited plot. They kept the same corporate villain plot they had in the first film, so nothing new there. I love Sam Rockwell too, and I thought he did everything he could with the character. I guess the main plot was Stark trying to save himself, but it just didn't do it for me.

I am not saying I didn't enjoy myself, but it just didn't hold my attention like superior super hero films did (Dark Knight, X-Men 2, Iron Man 1).

Here's hoping Robin Hood is better than I expect it to be.

Btw, I love Downey Jr. because of "Zodiac". Now that is a great film. Probably my favorite movie in recent memory. Every movie that is looking for a drunken loner has to cast RDJ. It should be almost automatic by now.
