Yes. He is attention whoring. There is a difference between garnering attention (due to his status), and trying to attention whore. It's the same as some hot chick saying "I'm ugly" and expecting others to tell her she's pretty.

I also agree with the sentiment that Bosh isn't good enough to build a franchise around. 20 and 10 guys are good, but there's a lot of them out there (Boozer, West, Randolph, Stoudamire, Noah etc.) and all of them have a superstar point guard to bring out the best of their abilities. It seems like most teams either have a superstar winger (Kobe, Durant, Lebron) or a superstar center (Yao, Howard) to build around, but for PF's, you need a good point guard as well to bring out the best.

Thus, a guy like Bosh isn't worth the max, but someone will clearly pay it.
