not really, if my friends can't do something, they just tell me and we don't make a big deal of it, and if i can't do it, they don't bug me either, we're all adults and we understand that everyone has different obligations,
i think it might be a maturity issue. If someone can't go, they should just say no off the get go, if they have to change their mind for whatever reason, that's their own business. But don't make your fun rely on someone else's ability to do something.
and on the rare times everyone gets there stuff together, it's generally an epic night. usually worth the wait.
