Mrs Rathji went with an occasional Diet Coke when our first was little, and almost instantly we noticed a change in sleep patterns. Not saying it is causal but it was worth it for her to just cut it out entirely.
On the topic of caffeine, I am in a similar situation. During the last 3-4 weeks of classes I drank 4+ cans of pepsi every day (up from my normal 1 can) and now that things are more lax I can't get cut back. Tea has worked for me in the past, so I might try it again.
