Where you want to live (if you end up down here) is in Prestwick (north end of MacKenzie Towne).
We have 2 elementary schools (if kids are in your future plans) plus you can walk to 4 (soon to be 5) grocery stores as well as all of the other shopping on 130th Avenue.
All the homes have rear lanes, all the streets have sidewalks and the walks are separated from the roadway. No front driveways also are a big plus to the visual appeal and general livability of the neighbourhood.
Transit provides good access to downtown with the express buses during peak times and the BRT during the rest of the day. My family of four has a single car and I take the bus downtown (#117 - I get on the bus at 6:10 a.m. and am sitting in my office at 6th ave & 4th St SW at 6:42).
Our Resident's Association fees are $200 dollars this year and compare favourable to many of the surrounding communities. I sit on the Board of the Association and would be glad to answer any other questions you have about the community.
