Everyone who plays online, or live action casino poker makes money. Everyone! I have met hundreds of people who play poker as a hobby, and have yet to have ever met a single one that has not told me they make money! Nobody looses! It's absolutely incredible that there are people that don't play. It's easy money. Money in the bank. Even with the House taking 5% of EVERY pot in cash games*, and usually 10% of every tournament buy-in, all players who play, make money.
And do you want to know why? Because they only remember, and tell themselves/wife’s/husbands/girlfriends/moms/dads/.... about the particular times that they made money. For example; They play in 10 sit in go tournaments, 10 tournaments cost them $10+1, they win one for $46, maybe place in two others winning $45. So they've bought in for $110, and won back $91. Wife asks them how they did: Up $91 sweetie, calling in sick tomorrow!
I don't mean to pick on you csnarpy, or call you a liar. I understand people do make money, but it's far less then you'd expect. The only one who always makes money is the House. Even if you are slightly better then everyone else, and make better educated decisions, your still paying the House. Rake back programs give you back a bit of that money, but not all of it. People tend to even lie to themselves, to make it seem that they are profitable in their poker ventures. It's a reality that casinos, real or online, have taken advantage of for many years. Poker, blackjack, roulette, whatever, it's the casino that makes the money. The casino!
