Buffon Open To Premier League Switch

Gianluigi Buffon has revealed he would be open to a move to the Premier League as he admits there is a possibility he could leave Juventus this summer.

Buffon, 32, opted to stay with Juve following their relegation to Serie B in 2006 but, with Juve now out of the race for Champions League qualification, there has been heightened speculation that he could move on.


The Italy goalkeeper recently dismissed talk he could join Manchester City, saying there was "no way" he would consider a move to the club as they are not among the European elite, but Manchester United are also believed to be interested.


"If I had to leave, I think England would be my destination," Buffon told Sky Sport 24. "My desire to leave Juve is equal to that of Juve's will to have me leave.


"At this time there is nothing [to discuss] but there are two weeks to go [before the end of the season] and anything can happen. Juve always has the priority and we will see if we will decide for our paths to continue together."
