Smokers leave others fuming

Find a crowd of smokers and you’ll find cigarette butts littering the ground at their feet.
There can be an ashtray the size of a tractor-trailer hubcap a few metres away and smokers will ignore it, preferring to drop their butts on the floor.
It makes no sense.
The same shortage of wisdom applies to the smoking motorist, who lights up every day while driving, yet fails to consider the need for a container to hold spent cigarettes.
Out the window the butt goes, each yellowed filter another nail in the coffin of freedom for those who smoke.
Ditto every cigarette butt found in parks, on beaches, on sidewalks.
Smokers, by their refusal to properly dispose of their litter, are helping to bring about their own demise.
