Actually, the majority could vote within their local districts to effectively ban you from their communities in the guise of imposing noise restrictions with stiff fines.
Or, if prevented from doing that by some aspect of The Highway Act, they could impose parking restrictions and other harrassments to essentially force you to take your business somewhere else.
If they thought it was sufficient enough of a problem.
As another example, on the very popular Road To Hana on Maui, there is a quaint, beautiful little place called Kaenae which has signs in residential areas that read something like
"If you do not live here, you do not belong here. Turn around and leave." Seriously. Not hard to take that hint.
If I'm not mistaken, there ARE community mandated noise restictions and periodic police crackdowns on 17th St. Crap doesn't go with the territory.
You're the visitor in a community where other people live their lives. They make the rules.
Anyhoo, I don't live in Black Diamond, Longview or Turner, popular stops for weekend riders. I don't care. But I know the people who live there aren't too happy about it and it may become something in the future. That's up to them.
