T2 was pretty much a brainless action flick(which you could pretty much say for all Arnie movies, God bless him), but at least the story idea was original(besides the fact its obviously a sequel). Avatar however has been done before, it could've been re-named Dances With Wolves In Space. So I can see how some wouldn't like it, as they probably feel like they've seen it before.
This movie shouldn't be broken down like this though, as we all know its all about the visuals. I swear they should've just passed out little bags of weed with the 3D glasses, I think the former's just as essential as the latter for this movie. Just sit back and enjoy Pandora in all its psychedelicness, and feel like a freak for oddly wanting to plough the female blue chick.

I agree with you in theory. However killer robots from the future really isn't THAT original either. Terminator just had the advantage of using a SciFi meme and twisting it to an action flick for the masses. If the concept was completely original Harlan Ellison wouldn't have gotten his panties in a knot at Cameron over the view of the Skynet future.
