Technically I told her to buy the twitter client ... she just lazily didn't do it and saved herself. I
did however tell this individual to not buy a MBP. I told her to keep her receipt and return it if the update came within the month, but I'm not sure how long it's been.

This is why my friends need to listen to me when buying Apple products. The following is the response to my question of when she's buying a macbook pro and my recommendation that she not buy it. I told her to at least hold onto the receipt in case they update in the next 30 days and she can return it. Note the date:
