Ya, I'm getting pretty pumped too. I have the same type of reel, it aint gonna break anytime soon
I finnaly did get a new rod this year (my fishin chums were nice enough to break my two last ones). I bought one of those ugly sticks. Solid rod for sure, already caught a few on it. Good feel, good action I really like it.
I am hoping to buy a new reel soon though. Gonna head up to Malzac and check out the Bass Pro Shop for the first time ever. REALLY looking forward to seeing that place even though my wallet isn't.
Also plan to pimp out the tin can this year. Getting tired of sitting on metal seats that feel like they are reaching 100 degrees in the sun. Going to get some rod holders, seats and a fish finder.
One day I will buy a new boat but this one has been in my family for YEARS. Fast as hell even with just the 9.9 Mercury on it. Got a few leaks in her but nothing a little silicon wont take care of.
