Beef jerky is basically my favorite food of all time but I never know where to look to buy this stuff aside from the usual processed and bagged variety you find in Wal-Mart, Costco, Supermarkets, etc. And it's always a very expensive food.
I remember I was in BC years ago and the IGA there had beef jerky from the deli counter and it was amazingly good and fresh.
I also loved a Chinese style ultra-thin beef jerky by a company called Jimmy's which is sadly out of business.
I've also eaten McCormick's Good as Gold a few times but it's pretty expensive at $5 a small bag at most places that carry it...although I hear that if you show up to his Calgary residence at Halloween, he gives out meat snacks like jerky.
Any recommendations of where I can find a good, cheap, large quantity of beef jerky to tide me over the cold winter? I generally prefer heavily peppered salted ones and not the sweet BBW or Teriyaki kinds.
