Dude. Perhaps I read his statement wrong but he's looking to put pictures ONTO his iPad from his camera - not pull them off. I know you can interface with your desktop without the adapter.
Now, it's still possible that I'm wrong - I'm in here to get more info about it.... but that's what I've been told.
