i don't want to say its a trend, but its funny you say that, as last year, late in the season, several players had to be brought in to cover for injuries and callups. and they ended up playing better then most of the regulars, and almost pushed to a playoff spot. perhaps its just that many of the players in those positions realize they are fighting for their hockey future and that motivates them, but i just found it funny as we had a very similar experience last year.
