Same phylum (arthropods) but not even close to the same family. Isopods are crustaceans (as are the woodlice in your garden), so probably closer to crab than anything else. I don't think I'd eat one, even though I don't have much problem eating most other arthropods. I was offered horseshoe crab once in Singapore, and debated, but turned it down.
As the song says: "Just because we're not as cute as kittens or things, doesn't mean we need to go extinct." Not that they're in any danger of extinction, being a deep sea scavenger is a pretty cushy niche.
