That is exactly the type of behaviour that encourages Vancouver fans to get their licks in when they get the chance, and it doesn't advance the quality of hockey talk on the boards in the slightest.

The problem is obviously a little bigger then simply trolling from opposing teams' fans.

obviously this is a flames message board; but i don't think that should mean that it should alienate fans of other teams. additionally, i think this board prides itself on intelligent and partial hockey talk. to me it seems like the core members with lots of posts and older join dates can be more objective in their posts. they aren't as inflammatory with their criticisms and such. (also i do realize that i am generalizing groups of people and that there are exceptions)

but unfortunately there are a lot of posters that post plain garbage. and that does encourage trolls from other teams to come mess with people.

obviously this all boils down in the end to what bingo wants. but IMO, this board is successful not because it is flames oriented, but because it does a relatively good job of talking hockey. i often get the snide remarks about why i am still around since the baby flames left QC, and what i tell people is because for the most part there is smart people that post here. if there is a trade that happens, i know i can come here for great analysis. unfortunately though, there are a lot of times that a lot of irrational immature posters are allowed a lot of leeway in canucks/oilers/red wings threads because 'its a flames board.' and i don't think that sort of double standard helps anyone. while you guys might all get a laugh out of 7uongo jokes, what do they really do to make the board better?
