The reason I didn't vote Liberal in the last election is because I feared they were becoming like the UK Labour party with regard to some of the issues that immigration brings with it. Ignore-it-and-it'll-get-better attitude.
I really see no reason whatsover to question not only this action, but a complete ban of the niqab and burka. It's not even an Islamic practice. There are two reasons for someone to wear the niqab: cultural pressure from a misogynist, dark-ages family, or because they REALLY love their local culture. In which case why move here? I don't even think it would have such a huge effect on Muslims in Canada in general. Do you see many women in niqabs in Calgary? I don't. |
