To me, the political slant is what doesn't seem to jive. There was most likely some other slight, real or imagined, that set the guy off and this politics thing is just getting tacked on for sensationalism. The guy with the Obama sticker probably cut the guy off for changed lanes without signaling or something minor to make the guy fly into a full blown case of road rage.
If simply seeing Obama's name caused this, this fellow would have been locked up long ago for something else.
