Hm yeah, that's weird then. Could it somehow be a driver issue (I can't see how)? I just would think it unlikely that a processor would fail in just such a way as to disable one processor but leave the other functional.. No doubt they put in a feature to disable one of the cores if they wanted to (burn out a junction), but if something failed inside one of the cores I doubt it would detect that and automatically switch to a single core.

But maybe. Weird.
