There's always two sides to every story. Could there have been some threats from protesters that stepped over the line? Probably. Is the Coulter side milking the publicity and making her into a free speech martyr (for lack of a better term). Of course.
I love that we have the right to protest, and I think that Coulter is trash. But I think that the best thing that everyone could have done was let her remain on the fringes of the Canadian mindset and let her preach to her choir. Most people wouldn't have batted an eyelid. If she crossed the line, file a human rights complaint. Done. It may not go anywhere, but she would remain a bit of a curious joke. Instead, she is getting way more mainstream media attention that she deserves. Attention whores love attention.
The whole warning by the U of O guy, and the subsequent media attention is playing right into her hands. If she practiced hate speech on Canadian soil, let someone file a human rights complaint about it. But denying her the right to speak by making threats - counter productive and contrary to the whole reason they are protesting in the first place.
