And to clarify, if somebody feels the need in this thread to say "That's it- I'm going to look at FTA or a "grey market" American system; that is OK. But to talking about how you are going to go about doing it is something we don't want on here.

Ahhhhhh thank you. I've been trying to figure out the distinction for some time. I mentioned it to my brother in law and he replied "ya that's what I was doing a few months back" ... I was confused because what he was doing seemed very very wrong.
I've heard from a friend that once he called to cancel his cable they offered him basic for $9 month. I'd almost be tempted to give that a whirl. Wonder if these new fees would put an end to that kind of deal?
