The first episode was tedious because it had "Ross" in it. I don't like Schwimmer at all.
I agree, the comparisons are tough to make right now. I think it's like comparing a sequel to the original. The original is nearly always better than the sequel. On it's own, a sequel can be a fantastic movie/series however the inevitable comparison against the original will come up.
