This episode was pretty intense. Wave upon wave of Japanese assaulting the dug in American outposts. They did a good job of creating tension with the reloading of the 30 cals. You would think the Japanese wwi frontal assault mentalities would subside after getting cut up in every major engagement on the island.
Guess some things never change too. I have a couple friends in the marines. They tell me of the shortcomings of their equipment. They get all the old stuff while the army gets the new stuff. "marines make due". Seems to be true in WWII as well. Can't imagine using a Springfield bolt action in a situation like that.
