from a guy who doesn't frequently watch Bollywood or Indian films (other than huge, really popular ones, like Lagaan, which is awesome), I was totally bowled over by Johnny Gaddaar. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Totally nailed the tone of a great pulp crime novel. Decent depth of characterization, but really, just the pace and tone and incredible storytelling... Wow. Completely floored me. I need to watch it again.
