Don't want to totally derail your thread, but I don't think I agree with this. It might just be a simple case of differing definitions of fanboy, but to me a fanboy is someone who elicits strict brand loyalty.
I can't think of a single brand that I support and won't even think about the competition.
EDIT: I do buy the same brand/type of toothpaste everytime. Would this be considered fanboy of crest? I do this because in my entire life I have never used a different kind/flavour. It's definitely not because I think it is the best product out there.
