Actually the money isn't that different, I saw a thing where if they make it to the final of the europa they get about the same as they would in the quarters of the CL
I think its more about prestige for a big club like Liverpool, and if they dont make the CL there will be stories all summer of Gerrard and Torres wanting to play CL football and demanding transfers (not saying they will, but the daily mail will probly release a new story on that subject 3 times a day)
