I remember trying to take a bookshelf, microwave and a computer monitor there one time.

Goodwill person: "Are they new?"
Me: (trying my hardest to avoid disdain or sarcasm) "No"
Goodwill person: "We only take new."

Is our city in such fine economical state that the dowtrodden and poor will only take new donations?
I can't believe how picky some of these donation places are. My mom had an old fridge and stove that worked just fine that she wanted to donate. I called Goodwill and asked them if they were interested in working appliances. She asked what colour they were, I told her 'almond', she said 'no thanks'.

Okie dokey. Didn't know that people without appliances would rather cook on an open fire than be caught dead with 90s coloured appliances.
